The watchOS 9 AFib History feature has been approved by Canada.

AFib History, one of watchOS 9's new health capabilities, obtained regulatory certification in Canada this week.

It appears to be the first country outside of the United States to do so ahead of the introduction of watchOS 9 later this year.

AFib History allows people who have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation to see an estimate of how often their heart is in this type of arrhythmia.

The function is meant for anyone over the age of 22 who have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation.

According to regulatory papers, Health Canada approved the AFib History for both the Apple Watch and the iPhone yesterday.

Canada appears to be the second jurisdiction to approve the new function, following the United States, where it was cleared by the FDA following a clinical trial.
