Liv Morgan will have the chance to show that her victory against Ronda Rousey in the title match was no accident.
Morgan will defend the "SmackDown" Women's Championship against Rousey at SummerSlam, WWE confirmed late on Friday night.
Morgan's first title reign begins in less than a week. Last Saturday night, she won the women's Money in the Bank ladder match at the main event.
Morgan sprinted to the ring less than two hours later to cash in her contract for a championship bout versus Rousey, who had recently survived a title fight against Natalya.
Near calamity occurred with Morgan's cash-in. An ankle lock was soon seized by Rousey. By striking Rousey in the knee, Morgan was able to get away, though.
After the game, Rousey displayed tremendous sportsmanship. Before exiting the ring, she hugged Morgan, personally gave her the title belt, and raised her hand.
