It is currently testing out the waters through the concise gallery of games for the subscribers, said, Mike Verdu, the company’s Vice President of Games.

At present, Netflix has begun its trials of beta testing of the games on a select number of members on TVs and computers thriving towards the advanced age of entertainment for its viewers. The testing involves a set of two games namely ‘OXENFREE’ from the Night School Studio which is a Netflix Gaming Studio and ‘Molehew’s Mining Adventure’, a gem-mining arcade game.

Although these are the initial set of offerings of the initial testing phase, Netflix has subtly indicated the probable potential of multiplying and diversifying its gaming library or the video-gaming palette.

Netflix further aims to expand and approach this new feature towards a wider audience globally by permitting gameplay on a wide range of devices around the world. Currently, these games are compatible and are available on Amazon Fire TV Streaming Media Player, Chromecasting on Google TV, NVIDIA Shield TV, LG TVs, Samsung Smart TVs, Walmart ONN, and Roku Devices & TVs. Netflix plans to broaden its list and achieve an inclusive cloud gaming vision.

For the eager enthusiasts out there, you can get a hands-on experience of Netflix’s gaming on TV, by downloading the Netflix Game Controller App from Play Store or Apple Store. Initially, this is compatible and available for iPhone users. The app requires iOS 15 or later for smooth functioning and people can look forward to the additional features as well as game offerings as and when gaming evolves.

The commencement of Netflix’s journey in cloud gaming began in the year 2021, making its way with the tech giants exploring the realm. The approach of the company’s model is providing the gaming experience through the primary subscription model providing the users with smooth gameplay and an ad-free environment. With the recent game launches of Netflix, which include ‘Laya’s Horizon,’ World of Goo Remastered,’  and ‘OXENFREE II: Lost Signals,’ Netflix is determined to expand its gaming portfolio.

Even though the primary aim is to explore the video gaming field and bring forth a brand-new gaming experience for its users, at the same time Netflix is cautious of each step as it traverses through the lessons gained from Google’s Stadia’s departure from the gaming scene.

The company has the knowledge, abilities, and limitations of the TVs as the processors present in them may restrict some of the necessary actions that may disrupt the smooth flow of running complex games on the TVs.

As a result, the initial beta test phase of the gaming on the select devices will ensure the company of its enjoyable gaming experience for its subscribers.
